1: Could a life be revived?

My life changed the night I met Airina. My mother passed away when I was 19 and I lived alone in our old house.Since my mothers passing nothing ever really happened, I went from work to home with little to nothing in between.

It wasn't until one warm summer night I was returning home from work that things started to change.

I was about to take my coat off when I was startled by some faint shuffling.

And there she was; this incredible creature; looking right at me so frightened.

"It's okay I said "I'm not going to hurt you..." As she stood there trying to decipher every word I had just said, she suddenly grabbed me pulling me into the other room, and into the closet.
As soon as the closet door shut, a large crash shook the room, and I could hear a sound I thought would destroy my ear drums, an unbelievable moan of pain with hate and frustration.
After a few minutes the scuffling seemed to die down we were surrounded by the sounds of our faint breathing.

"Is it gone?" I whispered, my heart beating out of my chest.

The girl nodded as we both walked out of the closet. I stared at her hands as they began to glow.
"What...What are you?" I asked, the creature took a moment to piece together what I had just said "F...Fairlynn" after every syllable the girl blinked and I couldn't help but smile.

"I have never really seen one before well...maybe in books, but that was years ago..." I rambled on.
The girl became confused and restless.Hopeful to recover I blurted out " You have Beautiful...uh.. wings?"
The girl seemed to understand she became instantly happy, "Wings Wings!" she repeated.

Suddenly her gaze became piercing, her black eyes took me back by surprise, they were so haunting and surreal, she studied me that moment, peering into my soul, perhaps even gauging the weight of my soul,  I was just so stunned.
"Are you human?" she asked softly. I was so surprised she even knew the word human, I yelled out "Yes!" with complete enthusiasm not realizing how loud I had actually spoken.

Clearing my throat, I took a few steps back "I am human, but Fairlynn are welcome here."

The girl burst out laughing, could I have offended her I thought? Perhaps she misunderstood my gesture?

"I am Airina, a Fairlynn" her words were sweet and soft, "Your English, it seems to be improving" I noted

"I learn words through your thoughts" she blinked again, almost as if proud.
"Wow you are so........." I trailed off, could she be reading my thoughts? I began to worry.
Quickly I thought of something else, "As I mentioned Airina, you are welcome to stay here as long as you like."
Her sweet disposition to seem to fade into concern." Airina are you okay?" I asked "Can I get you something?"
She shook her head sighing.

"I can only stay for.." she paused, looking up at the sky "three moons."
"three nights is fine with me" I assured her, even though I had no knowledge of the Fairlynn, from what I had heard they were legend a type of myth like werewolves or witches, which we all know don't exist, but by now, I am starting to question what could really be the truth.

Her soft voice broke my worrisome rant, "Thank you."
